10 October 2008: Register - don't miss your chance to vote

Households in Lewes have until 14 November 2008 to register by FREEPHONE service to confirm their details on the register of electors.

For those households where the details on the form remain unchanged re-registering could not be easier. By simply dialling the FREEPHONE number on the form, and keying in the special two-part security coded printed on the form, the caller is prompted to confirm the household details and the call is complete. The service is a fully automated touch-tone system and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 14 November 2008.

The FREEPHONE registration service also accommodates the “opt-out” provisions, allowing users to either remove their names from the edited version of the register or to include them. If your details have changed please return the voter registration form in the envelope provided.

If you have not responded, you will be sent a reminder form shortly. If you have not received a form by 20 October 2008 please call the Lewes District Council helpline numbers on 01273 484116/484117.

It is important that your name is included on the register of electors, otherwise you will lose your right to vote at the County Council and European elections next year.
