Find your way aroundTop navigation: This is included on all pages, with links to the Homepage, Accessibility, FAQs, Useful links, Site map, A to Z of Council Services, Print Version and Help pages. Search: There is a quick search box at the top of each page. Alternatively, you can access the Advanced Search by clicking on the link to the right of this box. Help with search. The A to Z and FAQs may also help you to locate the information you require. Main sections: On the left of each page is the main navigation section with links to the main areas of the site. These remain constant and, together with the A to Z, follow the Local Government Category List version 1.03 developed by the Local Authority Websites (LAWs) Project. All local and central government A to Zs must comply with this system, which groups content in a easy to find, user-focused way. We have also taken it a stage further by applying it to the website as well. Main content of page: You will find information about the current topic in the centre of the page. Your current position in the site is shown at the top of each screen. This may used as an additional navigation aid. Below this is the main content, having a main heading, summary sentence, online services, frequently asked questions, contact details and subheadings as appropriate. If a page scrolls down some way there will be quick links to its subheadings under the top main heading. Links back to the top of the page will be shown at the end of paragraphs within the page. At the bottom (where relevant) are further links to external pages (which open in a new browser window), PDF files or Word documents. See below for further information on PDF files and Word documents. Search for telephone numbersUse the A to Z link that can be found at the top of any Lewes District Council web page, rather than the main Search box.
